When the parties cannot agree on an amount of child and/or spousal support, the Court will award “Guideline” support. This figure is mainly determined by the income of both parties, and the amount of time the child(ren) spend with each parent. There are other minor factors taken into consideration when calculating support.
It is best when you can reach an agreement as to the amount of support that should be paid, as you know better than a Judge what the needs of your child(ren) are.
